The importance of reading for children cannot be underestimated. Reading for pleasure can benefit a child’s education, social and cognitive development, their well being, and their mental health.
对于孩子来说阅读的意义非同寻常,在阅读中得到快乐对于孩子的教育,社交和认知能力都有很大的帮助。甚至有益于学生的心理健康以及幸福感。

FIFA has always attached great importance to students' language development and reading ability. We will conduct three reading tests for students in a school year and record the test results of each student, then compare the progress of the students in this school year. 
福港艺林学校一直很重视学生的语言发展和阅读能力。我们将在一个学年为学生进行三次阅读测试,并记录每个学生的测试结果,然后比较学生在这一学年的进步。

What is DAR?
The Diagnostic Assessment of Reading is used by classroom teachers and reading specialists to assess student reading ability in five areas: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, reading fluency and reading comprehension. The DAR is most often used to test elementary-aged children; however, some teachers use it to test older students who struggle with reading.
阅读诊断评估由任课教师或者阅读指导专家用于评估学生在五个方面的阅读能力:音素意识、语音、词汇发展、阅读流畅性和阅读理解。DAR 最常用于测试小学生;同时一些教师也用它来测试阅读困难的年龄较大的学生。

This week, Ms. Teresa arranged for students in Class K to undergo a one-to-one Diagnostic Assessment of Reading. The set diagnostic test is divided into 3 parts, and the test time for each student takes about 15 minutes.
本周,Ms. Teresa 安排 K 班的学生进行一对一的阅读诊断评估。设置诊断测试分为3个部分,每个学生的测试时间大约为15分钟。

Letter Naming Fluency 
认读字母熟练度
There will be 26 uppercase and lowercase letters on the Fluency Sheet, and students are required to read the letters in the list within one minute.
Fluency Sheet 有26个大小写字母,要求学生在一分钟内阅读列表中的字母。

Two

Sight Word Fluency
词汇认读考察
Similar to the first part, students are required to read the vocabulary on the sheet within 1 minute. This part mainly examines the proficiency of students' phonics.
与第一部分类似,要求学生在 1 分钟内阅读纸上的词汇。这部分主要考察学生的拼读能力。

Oral Reading Fluency
朗读能力测评
Ms. Teresa chose The Bug in Wonders. After reading it, students need to answer two questions based on the content of the story. This part tests the students' oral reading and reading comprehension abilities.
Ms. Teresa选择了Wonders教材中的一篇The Bug。阅读后,学生需要根据故事内容回答两个问题。这部分测试学生的口语阅读和阅读理解能力。

It is very pleasant to see the progress of each K class student. Most of the students did very well. They were affirmed in this diagnostic test and were excited about their gains.
非常高兴看到每个K班学生的进步,大多数学生都表现得很好。每个小朋友都在这次一对一阅读测试中得到了很大的鼓励和肯定!并且这次的测试报告可以给到他们的老师更多的报告支持。
